Ok, here I was, sitting in my office looking across the room at my art area. I have been looking at this area and hoping that the artwork would just happen on it's own, but alas, it just looks back at me with a sad look.

So, I decided that since something as magical and mytical as art that happens on it's own is out of the question, time to break the virginity of the $50 easel and get to painting. Since I needed an idea or two as to what to paint, I watched a couple episodes of Bob Ross and then set to work.

Everything started out fine. I got the sky and background exactly the way that I wanted, but the snow in the foreground and the cabin absolutely sucked. I wanted to do a fence and something else, but felt that I had created a big enough mess and was ready to put my expensive toys to bed for a few days.

Maybe some classes at one of the local universities here will help - they sure as hell cannot hurt anything more than my wallet, but then again having a hobby that you pay cash for only to have it sit and collect dust is likewise hell on the wallet.

At least I bellied up to the bar and got started - that is more than can be said of a lot of other people in the world.
